“The Artefact Time machine, a prologue” from “Future Scenarios” project team at ArtAthina 2016
The Artefact Time Machine, a Prologue at Art Athina is the second presentation within the framework of Future Scenarios. The starting point of this installation is to use and collect man-made objects from the personal archive of each artist. By using, studying, linking and creating both real and fictional artifacts, the artists involved are building a new shared future narrative with their individual works. Future Scenarios is an art project that functions as an experimental collaborative platform for artists based in The Netherlands and Greece. In 2015 the project was initiated by Maaike Stutterheim and artist duo Van ’t Hullenaar & Vis. Together all the artists involved in this project are using the bridging potency of the visual language to imagine and create a new form of community between these two places. The Artefact Time Machine is being developed as a series of happenings/events/exhibitions that will unfold over the course of 2016/17. Participant artists are Lydia Andrioti, Fotini Gouseti, Van’t Hullenaar & Vis, Gerwin Luijendijk, Alysa Moxley, Mike Otting, Artemis Potamianou, Maaike Stutterheim, Giorgos Tserionis and Theodoros Zafeiropoulos.
